Thinking of You Color Challenge

HAPPY EASTER!

Today's card I made for a color challenge on splicoaststampers. The soft palette is gorgeous! I had a hard time with the lighting on this one when photographing.

This card came together super quick! Both the base layer and top layer were made using very vanilla cardstock. I used the Happy Watercolor stamp set from the mini catalogue to create this sweet card. Can you believe this stamp set could be gone at the end of May!? I am so going to miss this set! The sentiment is from the Express Yourself hostess set.

I hope you enjoyed this card today and are having a wonderful day with family and friends.

Leave me a comment below this post and let me know what other things you would like to see on this blog.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Happy Watercolor, Express Yourself (hostess)
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette, Pistachio Pudding
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Pistachio Pudding
Accessories: Pink Pirouette Taffeta Ribbon, 1/2" corner chomper

Secret Garden Easter Card

Hey Guys, Sorry about the MIA lately - it has been one of those weeks!

I have created another Easter card to share with you. I am hopeful that tomorrow will turn out to be a lovely Spring day that everyone can share with their family and friends.

Happy Easter Card

I made this card using an assortment of different tools from paper piercing to my big shot! I honestly don't know what I would do without my die cutting machine...definitely my number one go to tool! The afternoon picnic designer series paper just screams spring doesn't it! The paper piercing was done using the paper piercing templates from Stampin' Up! making this a snap!

The flowers were stamped using the Secret Garden stamp set and matching framelits - one of the best features of Stampin' Up! is their coordinating products. Not only their paper and inks, ribbon, etc but their stamps and framelits or punches. Makes creating a snap!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Secret Garden, Delightful  Dozen
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz, Afternoon Picnic DSP
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Wisteria Wonder, Crushed Curry
Big Shot: Windows Frames Collection Framelits, Little Leaves Sizzlits, Secret Garden Framelits
Markers: Coastal Cabana, Wisteria Wonder
Tools: Paper-Piercing Tool, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Festive Paper Piercing Pack, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig

All supplies can be purchased direct through me or on my Canadian On-Line Store!

Washi Easter

Hey Guys! Sorry its been a couple days since my last post - sometimes life just needs a bit more attention! With that said, I have another Easter Card for you today.

This one uses the ever awesome Gingham Garden washi tape to create a panel for my card as well as the butterflies. I simply covered a sheet of whisper white cardstock with the washi tape and cut or punched as desired. I just LOVE how it turned out! Want some washi tape of your own - you can purchase from my online store HERE or contact me to place an order!

Washi Easter Card

I just love the combination of the Night of Navy with Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo - such a cheerful combination! The daffodil delight piece was embossed with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (a Sale-A-Bration freebie). The floral panel is made with washi tape from the Gingham Garden Collection and then mounted on a piece of night of navy card stock. The flower is from the Peaceful Petals Stamp Set that I colored with Stampin' Write Markers. To get the different shades I used a blender pen..same color - two results! The butterflies were also made from the same washi tape collection. I added a few strips to a piece of scrap whisper white cardstock and punched them out with the bitty butterfly punch. Those blue pearls or in fact the white Jewel Basic Pearls colored with a copic marker.

Hope you enjoyed this card today!

Serene For You

Happy Friday!

I love the look of antiquing. A little sponging and it's easy to give a card an entirely different look!

For this card I sponged all the edges of the cardstock and designer series paper. I needed a different color ribbon but all I had on hand was vanilla. Easy solution - ink and a sponge dauber and the ribbon becomes the color of your choosing in minutes! I kept the sentiment generic as I wanted to be able to give this card for multiple occasions.

Supplies Used:
Paper: Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla, Afternoon Picnic DSP
Ink: Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana
Big Shot: Perfect Polka Dots
Punches: Artisan Label Punch, 7/8" Circle Punch, 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch
Embellishments: 5/8" Crochet Trim
Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals, Sponge Dauber

Hardwood Easter

There has been a tonne of different creations using the Hardwood background stamp on social media so I thought I would give it a try!

For my card I made the base A2 using crushed curry cardstock. I created a slightly smaller layer out of whisper white and embossed it with the cloudy day embossing folder. I stamped the Hardwood stamp with Soft Suede ink onto whisper white cardstock and trimmed it down and created the "pickets" by hand with scissors and a ruler. The banner was created using the Designer Typeset Photopolymer stamp which I stamped onto various pieces of Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper and cut out with scissors. The "Happy Easter" is from the same set.  The bows are from wisteria wonder bakers twine (retired). The butterflies and flowers were punched out using the bitty butterfly and petite flower punches and the same Designer Series Paper as the banner. Add a few Jewels Basic Pearls and viola!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Hardwood, Designer Typeset Photopolymer
Paper: Crushed Curry, Whisper White, Afternoon Picnic DSP
Ink: Soft Suede, Basic Gray
Punches: Petite Flower, Bitty Butterfly
Big Shot: Cloudy Day Embossing Folder
Embellishments: Wisteria Wonder Bakers Twine, Jewels Basic Pearls

Butterfly Cascade

The Papillon Potpourri has to be one of my all time favorite stamp sets! I love the versatility of it. Use the stamp set itself to make a card or combine it with numerous others to add interest! It works great as an embellishment as well - especially when paired with the coordinating Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly punches.

This card is an A2 card made with a summer starfruit base. I cut a piece of Birthday Basics designer series paper and matted it onto the base. I then took a piece of whisper white cardstock and edged it using the Adorning Accents Edgelits and added a band near the bottom using Raspberry Ripple Satin Ribbon. The butterflies were stamped onto the base using assorted butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri set using Summer Starfruit, Coastal Cabana, Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple Ink. I used a very small part of the gorgeous grundge stamp set to add assorted 'spots' to fill in gaps on the card front.

I then took a scrap of whisper white card stock and stamped a large and small butterfly in each of the colors previously mentioned and punched them out using the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches - I adhered those by folding them and adhering with a glue dot so they looked as though they were flying off the card.

I stamped the sentiment from the Express Yourself stamp set of course in coastal cabana and naturally added some Jewel Basic Rhinestones to each of the butterflies "in flight".

Floral Easter

Good morning on this lovely Sunday morning! It's finally looks like spring has arrived. My yard is filled with more birds than snow!

Now for the card:

I made this A2 card with a wisteria wonder card base. I used the Lattice die to cut various pieces from vanilla card stock and adhered it directly to the card base with tombow liquid glue. I edged a small strip of basic gray cardstock with the scallop border punch and layered on a piece of pear pizzazz and vanilla cardstrip again with my tombow. The leaves were made using the little leaves sizzlits and I inked the edges with pear pizzazz ink and a sponge dauber. The flowers are from the flower shop and petite petals stamp sets and coordinating punches. I love Stampin' Up! coordinating products! Not only does it makes things easier, but it gives a crisp finished look to the images and when purchased as a bundle you SAVE! Bonus all the way around! Finally the sentiment was done using basic gray ink and the delightful dozen stamp set and I cut that out using the bitty banners framelits. Add a few jewel basic rhinestones and voila!

Don't you just love the spring feel of this card?

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Delightful Dozen, Flower Shop, Petite Petals
Paper: Wisteria Wonder, Very Vanilla, Basic Gray, Pear Pizzazz

Fresh Silhouettes

I am loving the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack from the mini catalogue! I love the spring feel of it. With the sun finally shining and the snow melting away these last couple of days I was totally inspired! I decided mine would pair perfectly with the Serene Silhouettes and Secret Garden Stamp Sets!

I made an A2 card base out of coastal cabana cardstock long fold (my favorite). I used three of the patterns from the Fresh Prints DSP stack and various framelits, edgelits and embosslits for added detail. My favorite is the glossy accents I added over the 'hello' sentiment - the finished look is awesome and even better in real life!

Contact me to get your hand on these great products!

Old Bermuda Night

One of my favorite things about stamping is the stress relief it provides after a long day at work. It is so nice to be able to put work aside and do something else that I love. Stamping allows me to reflect on my day and relax!

I am not sure how many of you hang out on splitcoaststampers but I am totally hooked! This card was made for both the color challenge and sketch challenge this week CC472 and SC482.

Thanks again for stopping by!

Old Bermuda Night Swallowtail!

I am hooked on pretty much anything butterfly or flower related and have been for years. Did you know that the butterfly is the symbol for creativity? It also symbolizes joy, change, color, freedom and the soul. Pretty much sums me up for those of you that know me well.

I made this card with a night of navy A2 vertical fold base, a Bermuda bay piece cut slightly smaller than the base and embossed with the cloudy day embossing folder that was offered awhile back by Stampin' Up! I cut two 1" strips of night of navy to form the 'cross' on the card. I stamped the swallowtail stamp with Bermuda bay ink and then hit is with my 2-way glue pen and sprinkled on some dazzling diamonds which is WAY  better in real life. I then stamped the happy birthday sentiment from the teeny tiny wishes stamp set in old olive. I attached it to a slightly larger piece of Bermuda bay cardstock and adhered it onto my card front with dimensionals for some added depth. I attached the brights designer buttons in old olive to the card front with glue dots after tying in some linen thread.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Swallowtail, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy
Ink: Old Olive, Bermuda Bay
Big Shot: Cloudy Day embossing folder
Embellishments: brights designer buttons, dazzling diamonds, linen thread
Miscellaneous:  2-way glue pen, stampin' dimensionals, glue dots

Peaceful Petals Easter

It's hard to believe looking outside right now that Easter is just around the corner! I figured it was time to get the Easter creations started.

This card is size A2 (41/4" x 51/2" with midnight muse cardstock as the base. I stamped the large flower from the peaceful petals stamp set with summer starfruit and primrose petals onto a piece of whisper white cardstock cut 1/4" shorter on both sides than the base and rounded it with the 3/16" corner rounder. I stamped another of the large flower in midnight muse ink onto a scrap of whisper white cardstock and fussy cut it out and did the same with the small leaf in gumball green. Once I finished cutting them out I took my matching stampin' write! markers and went around the edges to give the flower and leaves a clean crisp look. I added a piece of primrose petals satin ribbon and in color dahlias as my embellishments. The sentiment is from the delightful dozen set and was stamped in midnight muse ink. I added some dazzling details to the center of the midnight muse flower - who doesn't enjoy a little bling?

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Delightful Dozen, Peaceful Petals
Ink: Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals, Gumball Green
Paper: Midnight Muse, Whisper White
Embellishments: In Color Dahlias, Dazzling Details, Primrose Petals Satin Ribbon

Miscellaneous:  Midnight Muse and Gumball Green Stampin' Write! markers
